Promote Your Products with Google Product Search Integration

Promote Your Products with Google Product Search Integration

Google logo under microscope

We are proud to announce that Shopify now integrates with Google Product Search (formerly Google Base). Using this free service is a great way to increase product promotion and discovery. We recommend every eligible Shopify store to opt in to this service for optimal exposure.

Google Product Search

Google Product Search is part of Google Base, an online database provided by Google into which any user can add almost any type of content, such as products. Google Product Search functions as a comparison shopping engine allowing people to search for products and find results from many different online retailers, comparing descriptions, price, etc.

Listing your products on Google Product Search is a great way to get more exposure for your products and drive traffic to your shop.

Note: Google currently only allows integration with merchants operating in the US and operating in USD, or in the UK and operating in GBP, or in Germany and operating in Euros.

Check out the marketing tab in your shop admin to opt in to this integration. Google Product Search

    @Jens,

Unfortunately this is a Google policy, not our own, and I don’t know when/if that will change.

    Hi shopify

Great feature, any on idea about, when it is going to available for some of us that are not under this category.

Note: Google currently only allows integration with merchants operating in the US and operating in USD, or in the UK and operating in GBP, or in Germany and operating in Euros.

    Hi Jesse,

Wicked news can get rid of the hack, however the one good thing about the hack is that I got nice stats and functionality from the merchant centre.

Is this functionality going to be available to our clients we have on shopify int he future

    Best Regards
    Mike Harding – Director

@Mike This kind of access is not provided by Google. However we will look into this and see if we can get your clients that information somehow.

@Catherine Unfortunately Google Product Search only allows residents of certain countries to list products in their search engine.

We hope to provide more integrations in the future, and hopefully some of them will support Canadian merchants.

    Hi There!

Excited about this feature but for some reason I can’t find this “Marketing Tab” in my shop admin to opt into this integration. My shop meets all the requirements.

    Thanks.

It sucks that we all work in international business with no frontiers in the web, but we don’t have half the integrations or services in Mexico, even if we pay the same price.
